On the 18th of February, our Lean Coordinator Cillian Farrell is jetting off to Poland for a week to undertake the ‘Winter Expedition with Wim Hof’.
Wim Hof or ‘The Iceman’ is an extreme Dutch athlete with several records behind him, including running a half marathon above the Arctic Circle barefoot.
On his expedition, Cillian will entail lots of extreme cold exposure training & practicing of the Wim Hof Method – a variety of engaging exercises to train the nervous, immune, and cardiovascular systems, optimize energy flow, and find a natural balance.
The week will culminate with a hike up Mount Śnieżka in sub-zero degree temperatures & plenty of snow……. Wearing just hiking boots & shorts!

Why? Some might ask? Extreme cold exposure is proven to have many health benefits including;

Reduced inflammation & Arthritis relief
Migraine relief
Lower blood pressure
Improved quality of sleep
Production of endorphins (chemicals needed to boost mood & reduce stress)
Robust immune system
Increased energy and focus

We thought Cillian’s story was one worth sharing and decided to set up this Go Fund Me page and donate all proceeds towards Ardee Hospice & The Alzheimer Society of Ireland.
Please help us support Cillian and donate what you can however big or small and spread the word!
